Director of Community Marketing
JUNE 2014 - Current
PrestaShop - San Francisco, CA
Reporting to the CMO, I’m responsible for managing the company’s global community program and budget. This includes an international brand ambassador program, community management, events and product marketing. PrestaShop’s open source community includes 1 million users located in 190+ countries.
Achievements
PrestaShop Ambassador Program
Created and launched a Brand Ambassador Program for our open source community. PrestaShop has a very international user community: the software is running in every country of the world (except North Korea), and it’s been translated into 65 languages.
The goal of the Ambassador program is to select ambassadors who will work with us on a volunteer basis. They represent PrestaShop on the forum, and at events. This program enables us to bring our users together in local meet-ups, all over the world.
Today we have 52 ambassadors in 27 countries, running 3 to 5 meet-ups per week. The goal is to have 150 ambassadors in 60 countries by Q4 2016.
PrestaShop Community Day #8
Paris, France - June 2015
PrestaShop’s annual user conference. This is a one-day event with keynotes, media, partners, master classes, and workshops for our user community.
- 2,000 attendees, a 33% increase from 2014
- Speakers from Waze, Pinterest, Airbnb, plus multiple partners and users
- Over 25 journalists covering the event
- 85% of the event costs were covered by partner sponsors
Upgraded the Product Launch process at PrestaShop
The product team and I developed a new launch process. Our goal was to inform the community about upcoming product releases earlier in the development cycle. This is particularly important for open source communities who collaborate on software development. Additionally, we connected the product launch process to our new Ambassador program. Ambassadors get access to product updates, early and often. They speak directly to our product teams. This enables our Ambassadors to communicate product updates very effectively with their local meet-up groups.
